In the beautiful new Pavilion, two and a half stories of glass reveal views of the beautiful Ohio River, the City’s Downtown Historic District and the Transportation Center’s historic steam engine, club car and caboose. The Pavilion has quickly become an attractive venue for special events. Surrounding exhibitions create an artistic backdrop for event guests, and exclusive access to the galleries builds a truly memorable experience.

Evansville Museum offers a variety of rental space options for private and corporate functions accommodating groups of all sizes. Join us for holiday parties, corporate meetings, customer appreciation days, intimate parties or black-tie dinners. Evansville Museum has provided the community with 100 years of exhibitions, entertainment and education. All proceeds from rentals directly support the museum’s mission.


Eykamp Pavilion And Mezzanine

Evansville Museum’s newest space offers a beautiful and unique setting for a variety of events. The 2,420 square foot Eykamp Pavilion has 1,020 square feet of usable rental space, and the second floor Mezzanine, which overlooks the Pavilion and has a wonderful view of the Ohio River, provides 1,100 square feet.

Please note that Eykamp Pavilion and Mezzanine is public space and may only be rented after museum hours.

Koch Immersive Theater & Planetarium

The Koch Immersive Theater & Planetarium is available for private shows, business meetings, presentations, weddings and gaming parties. The theater can accommodate groups of up to 70. Our staff will support the meeting with advanced audio and video capabilities including Microsoft Powerpoint®, Skype® and distance learning equipment.

Old Gallery

The spacious 4,000 square foot Old Gallery accommodates up to 200 seated at tables or 250 with lecture-style seating. The Old Gallery is the setting for changing art and history exhibitions and is available for daytime or evening events. Use of the Richardt Room is included with rental of this space, and allows for easy kitchen access. A screen is available in this gallery for presentations.

Richardt Room

Adjacent to the Old Gallery is the Richardt Room, a 774 square foot space that is ideal for meetings and parties. The Richardt Room seats 40 at tables or 60 seated lecture-style. A screen is available in this gallery for presentations.

Kuehn Terrace

The 4,200 square foot Kuehn Terrace, which overlooks the city’s historic district, is just steps from the Old Gallery. Because Kuehn Terrace faces east, this space is shaded in the evenings, making it an ideal venue for after-work or evening events.

Sculpture Garden

Just outside the Crescent Gallery is the outdoor Sculpture Garden, which provides an engaging view of the Ohio River. The Garden is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding, cocktail party or concert. This space can accommodate events for up to 500 guests.

Evansville Museum Transportation Center (EMTRAC)

In a separate building on the Museum campus, EMTRAC features exhibits exploring earlier modes of transportation by air, land, water and rail. Model trains delight guests inside the building while an historic steam engine, club car and caboose outside provide a remarkable place to enjoy the view the Ohio River. EMTRAC can accommodate up to 50 seated at tables (inside) and an additional 32 seated at tables outside on the covered train platform. The train’s dining & club car seats 24 at tables and ten in the lounge.

Entire Museum

Create everlasting memories when the entire Museum provides an extraordinary setting for your event. Guests may stroll through vivid exhibits in Rivertown, USA, to experience turn-of-the-century Evansville first-hand. Rental of the entire museum includes use of the Old Gallery, Richardt Room, Crescent Gallery and all permanent galleries. The Evansville Museum Transportation Center (EMTRAC) is available for an additional security fee.

Bring your console to the theater and play games in the unique environment of the Koch Immersive Theater & Planetarium. You’ll have exclusive access to our unique environment featuring a 19 foot-wide video projection on our giant screen dome and 10,000 watt sound system. Guests should be prepared to supply their own console, games, HDMI cable, and accessories. We’re so sure you’ll like gaming with us that if you’re not completely satisfied your first half hour is FREE.

What is the cost to rent the museum for my event?

Prices range from $200 – $6,000 depending on the size of the event and the spaces needed. Discounts for Museum Members and 501 (c)(3) organizations are available.

What areas are available to rent?

The museum has many areas listed above that are available to rent. Depending on your event goals, one or more areas may be utilized for each event. You are welcome to visit the museum spaces any time during public hours. Please call to schedule a visit.

Are tables and chairs included in the rental fee?

No. Tables and chairs are not available through the museum. Please ask for our preferred vendors list for rental companies.

What is included in the rental fee?

The rental fee includes the use of the rental area(s), kitchen or catering area access, podium and microphone, Wi-Fi and internet connection, and video screens in two rental areas.

What is the the rental space capacity?

Accommodations can be made for 10 – 500 people, depending on the rental area(s).

What types of events CAN’T be held at Evansville Museum?

Proms, fraternity and sorority formals, and political or religious events cannot be scheduled at the museum. Weddings, receptions, and high school reunions are permitted.

How do I select vendors for my event?

The museum provides a list of preferred vendors to help in the planning of your event. You may choose from the provided list or use your own vendors. Please note that the museum has final approval of all vendors.

Can we serve alcohol at our event?

A licensed bartender may serve alcohol at your event. Some events may require an off-duty police officer to be present. Please note: All events serving alcohol will be charged a $100 non-refundable cleaning surcharge.

Are there any restrictions?

The following are not permitting in any areas: glitter, confetti, birdseed, bubbles, open flames, candles, glow sticks, crayons, fountains of any kind, and live animals with the exception of service animals.

If something happens, am I held liable?

We expect that users will respect our space; however, accidents do happen. Each rental is charged a $300 refundable cleaning deposit for small issues. For larger accidents, a one-day insurance rider needs to be presented before each event. Companies and organizations can easily obtain one by calling their agent. Individuals can obtain one at www.theeventhelper.com

Is there parking available for our guests?

Yes, there is ample free parking available for your guests.

Can I add a tour to coincide with my event?

Of course! Evansville Museum’s Education Curator may facilitate arrangements for such activities upon request. An additional fee will apply.

How do I reserve space?

Call (812) 425-2406 or contact Samantha Ehrhart at admin@emuseum.org to discuss your event. Samantha will send you a contract, which you will sign and return along with a 50% deposit for of the rental amount. The remainder of the cost will be due one week prior to the event date. The museum accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, as well as checks and cash.
