Ripples, Stephen Hutchinson

  • Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science 411 Southeast Riverside Drive Evansville, IN, 47713 United States (map)

Hutchinson hails from North Wilkesboro, NC, where he was raised alongside his four brothers. Throughout his school years he attended a private art class, but often felt discouraged by his inability to paint or draw realistically. He never considered himself a true artist. However, at the age of 20, he had a dream in which an angel came to him and told him that he was an artist and gave him his name “Stoven.” The next day he painted a large canvas that encouraged him to dedicate his life to art. Since then, Stoven has been deeply inspired by human experiences, particularly love, romance, and nature’s feelings. His mission with art is to create something authentic and unique, full of power and distinguishable. His style is ever evolving, like all of us.
