About the Presentation

1945 to 1975 was one of the most transformational periods in American history, and it changed Evansville forever. This presentation examines the numerous massive changes that took place to the physical appearance of the city, before describing the “lost history” of the life changing struggle over Civil Rights that happened in Evansville. In this captivating and fast-paced lecture, illustrated with over 80 images, award-winning Evansville historian Dr James MacLeod tells the fascinating story of Evansville in a time of profound change.

In 2016 he wrote and co-produced a 2-part documentary on Evansville in World War II for WNIN PBS titled Evansville at War.
